As you saw in the “interactive eye” there are different ways to raise people’s awareness of environmental issues. There are governments and environmental institutions that do this through social advertising, either in the form of videos or in the form of printed images/messages.
I want you to look at the following “ads of the world” and say which one you like the most and why. Which ad has the strongest impact on you? If you were asked to create an ad yourself, what would it be like?
Then watch the two social advertising videos and state which one you find more effective to raise a young person’s awareness of global warming and climate change.
-why do we ricycle? Answer: the images are telling us that we are not doing something to change and help the planet. It’s like if the Earth step by step is crimbling and the consequence of change is our own change. Recycling is important because is one of the best ways for us to have a positive impact. Is essential for cities around the world and for people are leaving in them; for example making products from raw materials costs much more than if they are made from reclyde products; recycling also uses less energy.
-images: I liked the first and the third picture because the Earth with our negative help, it’s going to break. It is not deathles. More time passes, more we are detroying it. This caused the extinction of many animals. Plants suffer too. We are not realizing that we are hurting ourselves, we are changing ourselves.
Why is it time to take action? Because the climate change isn’t healthy for the environment and for the humanity.
How can we recycle? We can recycle reutilizing paper, glass, plastic and everything that we can reuse.
What prevents recycling? The recycle prevents a lot of wasted paper, knocking down of trees.
How do you want to make a difference? I want to make a difference using less water and less paper and teaching the respect for nature to who does not know to do it.

What does Reduce, Reuse, Recycle mean? Reduce means to cut down the consumption; reuse means to use again that is to recycle every thing that we can recycle; recycle means reutilize all that we can.
What is carbon footprint? Carbon footprint are the greenhouse gases product for the humans.
What is global warming? What is caused by? What can we do to reduce it? It is one of the most serious threats to our planet’s future. It is caused by the human actives. For instance we can use the LED or use the wash machine only when full or use the solar panels.

Global Warming is one of the most big problem that we have now. It is cause by our,human activities. This is cause the rise of the temperature and

The caption would be a silence messages,but we can undestand it by the baby. His mother let him alone in the bathtube with the tap water on. And the baby stay here without can do nothing but in his moviment we can see an help request: something the adults doesn’t think about the waste of the important things,they say that don’t have times,but don’t need time,need heart.

This video is link to the video of the baby in the bathtub because all both send to all people a clear message:to do something. The second video,in my opinion,is more effective and denounce better the global warming because the children speaks about problem with an expression,he seems more old,and is quite angry. He asks we to take action,and he ask this with words,important words.

Carbon footprint is an actual footprint, it’s a mark you leave upon the environment with every action that releases “Carbons”. Those are the harmful gases, which are pumped out by burning fossil fuels, And the more fuel is used, the bigger your footprint will be.

This people don’t uderstand what they do every day,in their home or out,they consider all this activity right because it became a routine now. For reduce their carbon footprint they should be pollute less and take more attection with what they left around.

I’ve never think about this before now,because I saw the Pollution like a problem just for adults,I was too young to tell something true or right. But now thanks to this project,I’m very interested to this and I really want to change the things, How? It’s so difficult to say. I’m not a clairvoyant that can see how is the future..but I can imagine,it will be bad! I want to tell everyone to think about our happines,and without the nature,how can we be happy? I hope that the people listen our scream because it’s important!

I don’t think that all people wil follow it. Now too,are very few the people who follow this advices. I think that I can follow it,because I really want to change the things. But needs care and attention because those are very important things to remember! I think that more the humanity go on more the generation will be lazy and dependent on technology. Later will be nothing to do,just now we can do something. If we still wait,we can hurt us.
1)Because the girl after saw those bad images of people and animals who are not fine, would want an happy ending for those people, so this is a reason to fight for environment and help who is hit by the problems of the environment and just together all will be fine and positive.
2)Global warming is one of the most serious threats to our planet. People can change this with small but significant changes for example, we can turn the thermostat down just one degree and this can save a lot even if it is not show, or we can swap halogen light for fluorescent or led lights and can be save 0.1 tons of carbon dioxide a year, very important, is if we adopt a vegan diet 3 days a week, it can be very good for our world and our healthy.
3)It’s so terrible what these photos show. What makes me sad but even anger was see animals trapped in plastic objects and the death of other animals after ate plastic or other objects no edibles. So terrible were even the children swam into rivers or seas full of trash and oil spills.
It is much better recycling because if we do not do, animals and people can die, so when we throw away something that it’s not thrown into a basket, we have to remember that exist animals with problems caused from all this.

I found more effective the angry kid because I saw pain and anger in his eyes (it is an advertising but the kid performs his parts very well) and all of the kids must have a future but some adults don’t understand that if we continue like this there will be not a future for our kids and children.
6)I did my carbon footprint and it results if everyone lives my lifestyle, we need 3,62 planet like Earth. That makes me think a lot, because the Earth is one, so it’s the time for change and recycling more.
7)Carbon footprint exactly is the mark we leave on the environment, basically is how much we waste and spend. Today, it’s almost impossible product something that doesn’t come from factories, but at least we can reduce our footprint maybe living a life more healthy, so think to our actions and choices before do something wrong.

It was very upset at the end of the video the part where I saw ice falls into the ocean and many industries that were getting out smoke, a very bad thing to make worse pollution more than is now.
14) After I watched this video now I’ve understood a little bit more what we mean for climate change, basically is caused by too CO2 in the air, that makes a lot of storms, hurricanes and tornadoes. Also, this problem can be melt ices and snow in the mountains, it is not a positive thing for the world.

Many industries and factiories have to control them and all the smoke that they get out, because they pollute the air more than what already is. 17)I absolutely agree with Severn Suzuki. I’m worried like her about what will happen to the generations that are coming now.
In the world there are so many poor children that haven’t got a house or a place where she/he can live, sometimes this is caused by the problem of climate change (how I said before climate change causes storms, hurricanes etc.) that destroys houses, so this problem interests also homeless.
Even I would do something to interrupt all this, but it is not easy, because in the world there are people who don’t care about this type of problems so it gets worse, just if all the planet will be together, I think will happen something incredible for our future.

I choose the last video because it makes us think that for our fault many animals suffer and many animals are extinct.
1) The kid in the video asks her dad if there is a happy ending because the end isn’t written, but not only. Her father reads this words:” Maybe they could save the land for the children”. The little girl “belongs” to the children, she is one of them and so she is interested, curious and maybe worried about her future. I think she puts herself in the shoes of the children that, in the story, pay for adults mistakes, and maybe she wonders if the reality narrated in the story is so distant from hers.
2)Global warming is the gradual increase of Earth’s temperature and it’s caused by human activities and greenhouse gases. To reduce it, we can use alternative fuels and energy sources (like solar power), we can plant new trees and also shift to locally grown food (reducing the fuel used to transport the goods). As regards food, we can adopt a vegetarian or a vegan diet.
3) These photos tell me we are in danger, the results of our comportment is relapsing on us and other organisms, starting from animals. Recycle is important because it reduces trash and it slows down the production of waste.
4) In the video of the baby in the bathtub I would put the following caption:” wasting water is dangerous not only for ourselves and our planet, but especially for other people, that in the majority are unaware”. We shouldn’t be stupid, we should pay attention, for our sake and for the sake of people we are surrounded by.
5) This video is linked with the boy’s one. Both these videos show us how wrong actions made by adults reflect badly upon innocent and young people. In my opinion the video of the baby is more effecting because it is not based on furious words but on tragically true facts.

You’ll enjoy it, and the environment too. As regards re-using, any container or food container can contain something different from what it contained before. A beer bottle can be reused as a water bottle, or a laundry soap container can become a flowerpot.
12) The “Blue Men Group of Global Warming” video made me understand that Earth is sending messages to us through increase of hurricanes, tornadoes and lots of disasters caused by them. We have to listen to our planet’s messages, otherwise we put in danger our lives.
13) Many climate events are increasing, like tornadoes and hurricanes. Now it’s time to take action because our climate is changing and we have to adapt and, meanwhile, try to reduce our footprint before it’s too late.
14) I took for the 3 R’s song, I found it funny but at the same time meaningful. My personal song to promote recycling would ground on the slogan I wrote: “Let’s recycle for a greener future!”.I think slogan like this make people reflect upon the future and the problems maybe we’ll have, and not only upon the situation of today.
15) I was speechless after reading Severn Suzuki’s speech, because she was too young but so mature for her age: she had understood the problems of our planet, sadly caused by us. Her words make me think that we have to take action, starting from little good deeds. I want to make a difference giving the best of me in my daily life, for example I am going to spend less money on clothes and turn off the light when there is no need.
16) I’m sure I could never become vegetarian, because I eat a lot of meat. I like meat (provided it is not horse meat), and I eat it almost every day. It’s an important food for the body, and it’s also tasty. Therefore I think I could never eat less meat. In this respect I can’t help the environment, but in other respects I can, and my parents can contribute to. For example, I am going to turn off appliances when I am not using them, or I am going to use windows to regulate the temperature.

Carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gases produced from human activities, usually expressed in carbon dioxide (CO2). For example, when I use the car, when I heat my house with the oil, gas, coal or electricity I produce directly or indirectly one certain amount of CO2.
What do these people do wrong? How could they reduce their carbon footprint?
These people wrong because they waste the resources of the planet. They could reduce their carbon footprint using the washing machine only when full, using less their car, turning off the video games when they aren’t used them, don’t fill the bath, closing the fridge and turning off the TV with the interrupter.
What does Reduce, Reuse, Recycle mean?
Reduce means: reducing your consumption or buying less. (If you have a brother bigger than you, you don’t buy a new t-shirt, you use his t-shirt).
Reuse means: To use something that is considered past its usefulness, again (usually for something else).
Recycle means: To break down and reuse component materials. (Ex: paper, plastic…)
What prevents recycling?
Recycling prevents the pollution and dirty city, saves our (and animals) life, protects and keep order in the environment, can give new life to many things. Recycling improves our life.
How can we recycle?
We can recycle throwing a something like a can or a bottle in a special containers (you receive a small amount of money), taking our bag when we go tu the supermarket, using a bottle of detergent and transforming this in a planter and converting a beer bottle in a water bottle.
What does this video inform you of?
I undestund what is happening in the world. If we want save the planet we must help us, hear and see the world emergencies.
Why is it time to take action?
Because if we don’t do anything now, the world it will stop exist. We are already ruining it and must do something immediately to save the planet.
Do you like it?
I like it because the author, starting from a number, talks about three very important things: reduce, reuse and recycling.

How do you want to make a difference?
I’m amaze from this video. Suzuki is a very young girl but she already has the clear ideas about the problems of the planet, and the reasons of these. Her words take me to think that we have to take action, starting from little good deeds for help our Earth. I should start to make something. When I have a shower I’m going to turn off the water.

I don’t follow the tip number 10, because meat is a very important food for our body. I eat a lot of meat and I love it. It gives me a lot of energy. In this, I can’t help the environment but in another things my parents and I can help the world for the future generation.
Ads of the world: The first is my favourite images because I have understood perfectly that if we don’t make somethins, the world will cease to exist; it will dessolve how a ice cream cone or how a piece of ice with the bear.
Social advertising video: The second video is more effective than the first because I have understood that we are killing the animals with our global warming. They don’t sopport we, because are destroying the world.

1-How do you want to make a difference?
I see that the Earth is in danger. I’m not so brave to speake in a conference but I want to help the Earth therefore I decided to recycle and to encourage also my friends to do this.
2-Why is it time to take action?
Because the conditions of our planet are making worse and if we don’t take action the Earth will die and we will die with it.
3-What is carbon footprint?
It is a mark that you leave above the environment with every action that releases carbons.
4-What does Reduce, Reuse, Recycle mean?
Reduce:good things can also come in one big package, so you can reduce packagi.
Reuse: you can give new life to empty containers with a little invention, so you don’t have to manifactures other.
Recycle: recycling process uses plenty resources in itself therefore we have to first reduce, then reuse and at the last recycle.
5-How can we recycle?
Using recycling bags for shopping. In some countries you can get money taking bottles or cans back. Instead of throw away clothes you could ripropose them.
6-What prevents recycling?
Superstitions and inertia but people don’t even recycle because in the different cities there are many different recycling systems and they are confused on how to recycle.
7-Which one do you find more effective in denouncing global warming and asking for you to take action?
I find more effective the one where you see a boy explains that his future depends from the choices of todays adults.
8-Why does the kid ask her da wheter there is a happy ending?
Because she sees many disasters and the story doesn’t explain how it ends because it’s up to how we act from now on.
9-What is global warming? What is it caused by? What can we do to reduce it?
Global warming is the Earth’s temperature rising. It is caused by human activities that generate greenhouse gases. We can make small but significant changes. For example, sealing doors and increasing insulation, turning the thermostat down just one degree, replacing an old boiler with a new boiler, using fluorescent or LED light, using washing machine and dishwasher only when full, using solar panels, wind turbines, water wheels and biomass.
10-Why is recycling important?
Recycling is important because it’s a way to remedy at humans mistakes. People get dirty and ruin the Earth but with the recycling we can do something to help the Earth. We must understand that our pollution also hurts the animals and the plants. So we must to take care of the environment.

thanks to the trees that give us the air and the fruits for a living
thanks to the sun that give us light and heat
we cannot polute and waste all these precious goods
when there is people that does not have them;
because even if we continue to pollute these
resource they will end soon with all living things
